The New Amendment

If I could add any amendment to the United States Constitution, it would without a doubt be to allow free religion in ALL public schools. I would do this because I feel anyone should be able to pray and/or worship the God/Gods they believe in no matter where they are. God is not allowed in school, and I do not feel that is right. Anyone should be able to practice any religion they wish at anytime anywhere.

Believe Again?

If I could believe in anything again, it would be my best friend. A few years ago, we had a huge fight, and he reveled a horrible secret about me. I wish I could believe in him again to not do something like that to me again. I did nothing to make him do this to me, and I do not understand why he felt the need to do that.

Beauty vs. Beauty

I do know someone who is big on inside but not on the outside. He is a very intelligent and giving person, but he is way too shy to show that side of himself. I know someone who is the complete opposite. He is little on the inside but big on the outside. He is not very confident in himself, but he tries to act like it. He sometimes bullies people to make himself seem "bigger". At times, your physical appearances are related to personality. Someone may think they are the best looking person on the planet, and they will "strut their stuff" to make themselves look even better in their eyes. If someone does not think they look very good, they could be a very shy person and not want to be around a lot people. I sometimes see this, but I do not see it very often. If one's internal beauty was directly related to one's external appearances, there would still be a wide range of people looking very differently, but it would show who one really was. A good-looking person would have a GREAT personality. Vise verse for a bad-looking person. If this was true, I would look pretty good. I would definitely not be ugly, but I still would not be the best-looking person on the planet because, like everyone else, I have my faults.

Saver or Spender

I am a saver. I am extremely frugal. I will always try to save a buck. I very much agree with the articles because they appear to have very through research done on the topic, and I respect good experiments following the scientific method. My opinion on my generation is mixed. There are a lot of good kids who will choose a good path, but there are also some kids in my generation who will not choose a good path. I am friends with a few people who make very poor judgement calls, but I try to help them while still understanding from where they are coming with what they are saying. I would say my generation is pretty good with a few . . . exceptions . . . as there are in every generation.

Blog for Guyrty

Arnold is in all these “tribes” because they make him whom he is. Each and every “tribe” he is in tells a little bit about him and what he likes, likes to do, or how he looks. Knowing he is a part of all these “tribes”, he can choose around whom he would like to be.

I am a part of a lot of “tribes”. They consist of . . .
  • The bookworm tribe
  • The American tribe
  • The Saxophone tribe
  • The Spanish speaking tribe
  • The television tribe
  • The hard-working tribe
  • The confident tribe
  • The fearless tribe
  • The Tuba tribe
  • The Bassoon tribe

I Am an Extrovert

I am an extrovert. I regain my energy by spending time with my friends. I think extroverts have it easier because they always have their friends around them, but it all depends on whom you are. If you relax better alone, then you have it easy for yourself. If everyone in the world were an extrovert, the world would be a lot happier place. Everyone would socialize constantly. If everyone in the world were an introvert, little communication would be made because everyone would be confined to themselves. I prefer extroverts as friends because I like being able to relax with all my friends, and I do not like to be alone that much. I think extroverts are better leaders because they are not afraid to get in front of a group and speak. I believe introverts are better writers because they keep to themselves, so  they can think about different things constantly and let their minds wander. I believe extroverts are better teachers for the same reason I believe they are better leaders. Either are better neighbors depending on if you want a quiet neighbor (introvert) or a more bold neighbor with whom to hang out (extrovert). Introversion and extroversion matter a lot because they determine how people act in life.

Meaningful Quote from Life Law 9

"When some one or something hurts you, it is only natural that you would have a negative reaction."
This quote means a lot and is very accurate when describing most people. It is very much true for me.
There are people in my life, and they disrespect me very much. Yes, it actually does hurt a little because it's very hurtful. When this happens, I immediately become very defensive. I will not trust these people for a very long time. They have to prove to me they can be trusted by me again.
I do not find it hard to forgive someone for what they have done to me, but it will take a long time for me to trust them again. Also, I will NEVER forget what it was they did. I will always keep it in the back of my mind because they could do it again in the future, and I better know how they do it and the way they do it, so I know how to respond to it.

Meaningful Quote

“If you do nothing, you will have nothing.”
This quote from Life Strategies for Teens basically means if you do not take action to do what you want to accomplish, you will never accomplish it. This quote means so much to me because it is the truth. You must try to do something, or it will never get done. This relates to my life because there are many great things I wish to do, and if I don't try to do them, I will never do them. It is very simple.

Another Favorite Walt Whitman Favorite of Mine

A Noiseless, Patient Spider
This poem begins by talking about a spider being very patient. It talks about how he is exploring his vacant, vast surrounding. Then, in the next stanza, it explains in "different" way how the human soul is like a spider. It said, "Till the gossamer thread you fling, catch somewhere, O my soul.
I like this poem because it is very interesting to me. I really like the analogy made between the spider and the soul. I've always liked poems or stories that relate to completely different things, and this one is no exception.

My favorite Walt Whitman Poem

My favorite Walt Whitman Poem . . .

O Captain! My Captain!

O CAPTAIN! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills; 10
For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths--for you the shores a-crowding;
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head;
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won; 20
Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

Teacher vs Independent Student

Some people feel they can learn very well without a teacher while others feel they cannot and need a teacher.
I very much would prefer a teacher to give a quick 20 minute lesson on the new topic. Then I would like to go on my own and practice or go farther with it, and I would only wish to return to the teacher if I had trouble with what I was doing.
I understand there are some people who need a teacher to be with them 100% of the time. Some people cannot teach themselves. I can somewhat relate to them. I am taking Health online this year because I may get accepted into the program in which I want to be, and I will not have time in my schedule my last two years of high school to take it. It can sometimes be very challenging to learn the material for the next quiz. Also, it's harder with which to keep up because I'm not going to Health Class every day like everyone else. I am completely in control of my learning in it, and I forget about it every once and a while.
In conclusion, some people can learn without a teacher. Some people cannot and wish for a teacher to be with them all the time in the classroom. I am right in the middle. I want a quick 20 minute lesson, then I wish to go on my own and go farther with it and practice.

My Sophomore Year So Far

So far, my sophomore year has been pretty good. There has been a little stress, but that is to be expected with three honors classes. This year has been what I was expecting. My teachers are very fun, and they love to joke around. I feel that is a major need for high school kids these days because no teenager wants to sit and listen to lecture after lecture. They want to have some fun in the classroom. I feel I learn better when I'm having fun than when I'm sitting and taking notes all of the time.
